Hi guys, our forum needs moderation for new user registration. After a new user applied and confirmed, system puts him/her to a default usergroup. How can we change this so a new user will go directly to another group that we want?

This requires editing the code and cannot be supported.
What you would be better doing is creating a "clone" of the default usergroup, then changing the default usergroup so it requires moderation.MARK.B

Thanks Mark.
We had a lot of problems after updating to 5.1.0 version, one of them is that the users can not upload/attach photos to their messages in forum, just getting error messages. We tried every solution advised on the forum about this issue but none of them helped. So we have created new usergroups and transfered all users to new groups which seems to solve our problem for now. But after paying 400 USD for the system and now everytime have to manually move new users to a desired group is annoying just because of a bug that never solved (I mean the error messages users get when they try to post photos).Comment

Hi Mark,
Exactly same problem with these guys. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...-upload-images
After changing and trying a lot of options now we get error message saying "not_valid_permissions" when trying to upload a photo by share photo button but all permissions seems right (upload attachment works fine by the way) . As I said we have created new usergroup and moved all users to this new one and it seems OK at the moment.Comment

If it's actually this:
"You are not authorized to make this post."
Then have you turned off post comments? As that's a known issue, the workaround is to turn them on and then use css to hide the button - we can help you do that if that's what's causing your issue.
The problem with linking to other threads is that the causes of similar looking problems can be very different.
The fact you can make it work ok in a custom usergroup means that it's something permissions-related, this can be tricky to track down but again we can assist. Certainly the solution of using a different default usergroup will not be necessary.
I would suggest sending us a ticket, with a link back to this thread.
We'll need: FTP access, Site URL, Admin login with full permissions and a log in for a test user in the default usergroup.
Please add the credentials to the "sensitive data" field.
