Configuration module error

Our forum is allmost working fine.
However we ran into a problem when we wanted to edit modules.

EDIT PAGE > than EDIT MODULE (i/e who's online) results in this error message

Error retrieving the configuration for 'Online Users Module' module.
Please try again.


With all modules it gives that result.

Where does vb try to retrieve the configuration ?
And how can we solve it ?

Does this happen on all pages? What change did you make just before this error started to occur? Do you have any announcements on the pages?
