Trying to arrange content in some posts using tables, and they ignore the alignment commands as well as the border commands. This image shows a table that I inserted with 500 width, 0 border and center alignment... I have to say I'm getting frustrated with the number of bugs in vBulletin 5.
Tables Ignore Settings

Not really a bug. It is how HTML and CSS work. Inline attributes on tables are ignored by most browsers when CSS is applied.
You need to apply CSS directly to the class of the table. When inserting the table click on "Advanced" and add a custom CSS class. You can use the same for all tables. Then use CSS to handle the layout of your table and positioning of content. Put your CSS in your css_additional.css template. Doing this you can create highly stylized tables with custom header colors, zebra striping and other tools for a good presentation.Translations provided by Google.

The border is actually a bug due to this CSS rule:
Code:.restore th, .restore td { border: 1px solid #B7BCBE; padding: 0.5em; }
Code:.restore th, .restore td { border: inherit; } .restore table { margin: 0 auto; }

@Glenn Vergara - Thanks much, added that and it behaves as I'd expect it to based on the UI!Comment

They can't. Most end users don't post tables though. The site owner can also override the default table CSS as well though. I wouldn't inherently consider it a bug though as the majority of customers will want borders for their tables and to not use center alignment. However customers can enter JIRAs to have things changed if they wish.Translations provided by Google.

Yeah, but the way you suggested to style tables is for end users to specify a CSS class in the Advanced tab of the Table Properties dialog.
When inserting the table click on "Advanced" and add a custom CSS class.
...and then the site owners should have styles defined for that class in the additional css template.
Then use CSS to handle the layout of your table and positioning of content. Put your CSS in your css_additional.css template.Comment

Basically you are telling me that the majority of what's on the "Table Properties" tab just doesn't work and that's not considered a bug... I really think you guys need to reconsider what a "bug" is and what a "feature" is... now if those fields weren't there, I wouldn't be complaining. But you put them there, they WORK in the WYSIWYG editor, but when you post, they don't work.Centered Table Works Fine In WYSIWYG Editor But Renders Wrong In Post.

The border/cellpadding/cellspacing issue seems to be a ckeditor issue. After you create a table in the Advanced Editor, click on the 'Source' icon (first icon in the ckeditor toolbar) to see raw text with bbcodes. Notice the values for border, cellpadding and cellspacing are not set.Comment
