Messages say full but not

I'm receiving this notification when I try to send a message:

You have reached your stored private message quota of 50 messages. You have 54 messages saved combined in your private message folders. You cannot send any further messages until space has been created.

Even though I have deleted every message from inbox and sent box, every notification, and even permanently deleted my trash. Any idea why I keep getting this notice?

Because there is a bug where all notifications count towards your private messages as well. Work is being done to fix this.

The workaround right now is to increase the quota by editing the Usergroup.

Thanks, I'll be looking forward to getting that fixed along with the announcement bug. BTW, for some reason on Edit Page the module icons for editing, trash and moving have dropped down and are out of place since the update to 505, doesn't hurt anything but looks messed up.
