.htaccess protect the admincp in vbulletin 5

How do I add a second layer of autentication to vBulletin 5's admin CP in v4 I could do it with a simple .htaccess file in the admincp but it doesn't seem the same in v5?

If I add it to the admincp folder in root I get "Invalid Page URL. If this is an error and the page should exist, please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message." when trying to access admincp

If I add it to /core/admincp its bypassed and ignored.

    Anyone?

You're this impatient after two days, I have bad news for you! Many people like me still don't have their questions answered after a few months of bumping their topics! Tried adding the rule to the main .htaccess?

Well I have been using vBulletin from 2004 and trust me it was never this quiet, 1 hour would have been the norm for a decent reply.

I'll see what I can find out about this when I'm on duty later on. I haven't heard of anyone else having the issue but I also haven't tested it myself.
              I'll report back.

                  Do you have cPanel?
In it you can password protect your folder on a very simple way.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...
