Urgent: Unable to View Forums or Edit Page - v5.0.5

We recently upgraded to version 5.0.5. Today we were unable to see the forum listing in Internet Explorer, but it worked fine in Google Chrome. I tried turning off some of the modules I had displayed and then the forum listing went away for all browsers except my smart phone and I'm unable to edit the page. Clicking inspect element in Google Chrome gives me the following error:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'id' of undefined
    on file:
    footer-rollup-505.js:207

I am not sure where to go from here. Any help is much appreciated!

Update - a subpage is working properly. How can I manually edit our main page template to remove this error?

I am fairly convinced that this is due to custom code I've added to our main page to display images and links to our main website. I marked these as inactive prior to everything completely locking me out. How can I get rid of these modules for good and get my homepage back? Or replace my home page with one of the templates/layouts that is working?

    Thanks!

Do you have announcements? I see the notice but no announcements. If you have announcements, deactivate them in the AdminCP for the time being.

Argh. I hit the X on the announcement on the page that I can't edit and it went away everywhere. Is there a way to get this back?

How do I deactivate the announcements in the AdminCP?

        Thanks,
        Naomi

Never mind. I just realized this was a notice, not an announcement like you said! I don't usually administer this site, so I'm stumbling my way around vbulletin right now!

The question still stands, how do I disable the announcements? Thanks!

When I use firebug and click the navbar, it claims to be disabled... Not sure if this helps.

In the AdminCP go to Announcements -> Announcement Manager and set any listed announcements to inactive.

They are all inactive. No change on the edit issue, though.

Try AdminCP > Settings > Options > General Settings > Disable PHP and Static HTML rendering > Yes and then see if you can edit the page.

I was able to get the popup for the authentication once, but no field to enter the password, then it doesn't work after that. I have to close out the browser and start over to try again. We're closer, but not there yet!

Can I just create a new page and assign it to the home page? If so, how would I go about doing this?

I followed the steps here to create a new page and redirect the home page. This is working for now. If anyone can help me fix our original homepage, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!
