Online Users Module not displaying properly

I had a suspicion that the Online Users module which is supposed to display who is currently online / logged in wasn't working properly. I kept seeing new posts pop up in the forum, but i was always the only person who was displayed to be logged in. I created a second user, on a different computer, logged in, and low and behold... I only saw myself. This could be very discouraging to members who might feel that no one is browsing the forums.

Any idea on what could be causing this issue?

Does it update if you clear the system cache? AdminCP > Maintenance > Clear System Cache

Using 5.0.4 and seeing the same thing. I know it's not showing all the online members because I am getting PM's and seeing messages appears without those people showing in the online list.

There are currently 90 users online. 10 members and 80 guests.
Most users ever online was 90 at 11:17 AM on September 19th, 2013.

The only thing that changed was I logged in to the Admin CP.

This one specifically needs to be voted up so that the priority rises from a 10 - minor.
