Thumbnails for link post disappear after 24 hours

    Hello,
I have gotten my vbulletin 5 website setup pretty well but one error or bug or config problem is preventing me to move forward.

When a user posts a link it attaches a thumbnail image, well on my site the thumbnail disappears after about 24 hours and a missing image icon appears. Clearing site cache does not help, the only way to fix it is to edit the post choose a thumbnail and click submit. I can not continue to do this as the number of link posts get bigger.

Images upload fine, I have checked permissions, I have disabled mod_security on the site. All other attachment features work, except when I add an image for a group icon, it does the same thing.

I was told it was this bug
http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-10648 but I am not having problems with regular attachments in a post and and when I look at filedataid my count is at 1 not 0. Looking for help on this, I really can't move forward with my site until I get this resolved.

    Thanks,
    Andy

They are still attachments. What is happening is their reference count isn't being updated so they are deleted by the system. Unused attachments will be deleted. The field to look at would be refcount.

Okay makes sense, checked refcount, the count is not updating. What can I do?

Manually update that to 1 and potentially have extra attachments or wait for a fix.

Guess I am not fully understanding this. What is the refcount counting? Number of pages references the attachment? The thumbnail attachments actually have a refcount of 1 not 0 so I am not sure what the problem is.

Looking into this more, it looks like right after the link is submitted it does have a refcount of 0 and after a while disappears from my website it empties from the database. So yes it does look like this bug http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-10648.
