Wrong URL for Users Activation

Hello,

Recently I faced a problem, that users receive wrong url, while activating their registration. This url generates automatically.
The common and right url is http://www.domain.com/registration/activateUser and most of the users receive this url, but some users receive incorrect url like this: http://www.domain.com/core/registration/activateUser

How this activation url with /core/ folder can appear?

Users of my forum from time to time report error registration.

Can you help me?

What phrase? It's the generic one from the install.

Can somebody please look into this because I'm getting users asking me why they can't activate their account.

Today I got an email with a link that looks fine like "registration/activateUser?a=act&u=516&i=4ede0cab8dead9ec37b90dac697cf74c014ef0f0"

but it gives them this

"We could not activate your account because this web address is not valid. Make sure that you have the entire address from the email, and that your email client has not split the address over several lines.

Please try again with the full address from the email that you received. If it still does not work, try filling in the activation form:

This is even more strange because I used the activation link with the activation code and get the same message!

I used to think vBulletin is the best forum software out there but this is impossible!

Make sure you're running 5.0.4 with no third party addons, or modifications, and that you've got the default style, and templates, as well as the default language.

I have no third party addons, the only thing is different CSS. So the problem is with the update.

Everything is at default except the CSS which is under the css_additional.css which overlays the original CSS. That should not cause a problem to wrong activation URLs. I worked with a lot of CMS including wordpress, phpbb, and even customized elgg from ground up including plugins.

I'm very confident that the CSS under css_additional.css will not affect the activation URL. The problem is with the update does not update correctly from older versions. New people installing it with little to zero database won't have a problem but people from beta and lower versions might, who knows but it's not the CSS and everything is at default.

I upgraded from 4 to 5 when 5.0.0 came out and had been doing updates every time a new release came out. The activation emails for me didn't have the URL (just the placeholder) and I never realised. What fixed it was uploading tools.php to the install directory (it's in the do_not_upload folder when you download vBulletin) and clicking the link to rebuild languages, phrases or something like that.

I also have the same problem. The first email activation has sent with correct url. But some days after that, if the user does not click to activate yet, the second email is sent automatically and the 3rd, the 4th, ... afterward. All these emails have wrong url with "domain/core/regisatration...". How to solve this problem? I'm having a headache.
