"Empty Response" error when responding to posts

Among the myriad of bugs I am having with this new vB5, is a problem where people cannot post a response to a thread. When they submit a post from the editor a pop-up says "Empty Response" and it refuses to post.

You seem to have recent posts from today, does this happen all the time or just once in a while? Is there anything you can tell us about when it does happen? Is it in a certain browser? ALways in a certain forum? Anything you've noticed?

I will try various browsers and our test user who is not an admin.

A lot of today's posts are not showing up, in addition to many past posts. I get notifications people posted, and when I go look there is nothing there from them. It is intermittent.

I would suggest you start a support ticket, include login for the Admin CP in the sensitive data box of the ticket system.

When a user includes login for admin CP, what permissions are normally granted? Does admin create a user for this purpose? Doesn't affect me right now but it may do in the future. Thanks.

For anyone getting the empty response, please try clearing your system caches. Next what is your MySQL max_packet_size?

when you say clear your system cache as in our personal computer cache? my max_packet_size is set at 25165824 bytes and slave_max_allowed_packet is at 1073741824 bytes

                    thanks

Update: I've attempted to clear the system cache from admincp. same result!

Ok, probably best to start your own thread now. This thread is almost a year old, there have been several versions of the software since then and the causes may be very different.
