Can't delete channel / can't change status...

I just try to reorganize the structure of the forum channels (fresh install 5.0.2). But i can't, because some empty channels won't change their status from category to channel.

You cannot convert a channel that is not empty

What can i do? Is it possible, to delete these channel in database? How, and what should i keep in mind?

EDIT: Channel id = 3 (main-category) without parent channel.

Can you delete them using the Page Manager in the Sitebuilder? They would need to be empty...

To Empty a channel, you would either need to delete or move the content within it using the inline moderation tools.

Wayne, the channel was empty. I now renamed it and change its routnew values. So the problem is solved. I think the problem is, that the channel is the default channel named "main-category". Perhaps there is an error in a script, who protect a deletion of these channel if its not empty. Or some data remains in database...? Something like that.

I still have the same problem of not being able to delete the channel names "Main Category". It simply doesn't work deleting it either from front end or back end.

You just can rename these category in table 'routenew' by editing the entries for 'prefix' and 'regex' in your database and deleting system cache afterwards. You also can cut these category out by denying forum-permissions to all users.

Would highly recommend NOT messing with the database directly. Renaming channels should be fixed in 505 properly via site builder.
