    forum in URL; how to remove?

    Discuss the extremely effective art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, No-Holds-Barred and Mixed Martial Arts with experts worldwide.

    I want that link to be http://www.defend.net/deluxeforums/martial-arts/mixed-martial-arts-mma-bjj-forum

    I'm not seeing any rewrite rules in .htaccess to cause forum to be there. Where and how can that be removed?

    Thanks,

    Tim

    Right now youd need to enter site builder and manually change the pages URLs one by one. Otherwise there is no easy way to do what you want

      You can't, it's part of how vB5 works. It's the name of the parent channel.

      /forum
      /blogs
      /social-groups

        Thanks. I was using vbseo in past versions to handle the mod_rewrite. Now none of my backlinks will point to the right page. Is the only good solution to wait for google to reindex my site?

          From vBSEO URLs, yes, unless the vBSEO guys come up with something for vB5.

              Hi, I hope this is a great forum. I am looking forward to participating in the forum.

              So, "forum" cannot be removed;

              Can i at least remove "main-forum"

              And why the number "28"
              Can i remove this number?

              Actually, i would like the url to look like this;

              Code:
              https://crosspink.com/greetings

                Well it can…. This is why we recommend against replying to decade old topics and creating your own topic for any issue that you are experiencing.

                You can go to the channel in question and click "edit page" in site builder. When saving the page, you can give your own custom URL that doesn't need to include the /forum/. However, every single URL needs to be unique. There are more recent topics that go into this in more detail.

                The node id or number 28 will be required or you will not be able to access move or edit the topic. This guarantees that all topic URLs are unique as required by the system and the internet as a whole. You can create custom pages and they won't have a node id in the URL.

                  Thanks for repling; but you already assisted me in resolving this problem in a different thread.
                  I opened a new topic under Vbulletin 5 for this issue.
                  And it has already been resolved.
                  Thanks.
