    issue loading site thru https

i am having problems trying to force the site thru https....i have spent some time with host and they assured me it is, um, well heres the quote "I am sure it is something related to settings and including unsecure url in the code/database"

i have set the core url under Site Name / URL / Contact Details to https://www.mysite.com/vb5/core

the box under that, 'Always use Forum URL as Base Path', is checked 'yes'

but the source code still comes up listing http.....am i missing a setting or did something wrong?

have tried editing .htaccess and several things....positive cert is installed correct etc....

well i thought i had it.....it worked one time i swear, lol.....

so now im having issue logging to site when its forced thru https....perhaps something in the config.php?

it seems to complete the login process, but does not display forum or a username at top...

i uncommented the line about https login and put a forum base url like https://mysite.com/vb5
but seems it needs a login url or something? if so what is that pls?

It appears that Sunday is a day of rest.

It doesn't need a login URL, it uses the same Base URL as you have for $config['baseurl']

Really you didn't need to change it from default. Only needed to change if you were using https ONLY for login. If you use https for everything it shouldn't be necessary.

Would suggest you open a support ticket.

ok thank you joe i was wondering about that if that line was meant login only or what...pehaps a bug...im def not installing any mods for a while to make early stage trouble shooting easier....think i got stuff close how i want it now just this https issue atm..

i left that line about https login to default at first but then when it wouldnt let me login figured that was prob..hmm

the support request may be too much for me this week, but i messed with it some more and got more info on the issue fwiw...seems like a normal bug, idk...

to start its like i said where im logging into https the first time the browser loads the page, and it logs you in but doesnt take you to the forum or show any username up top....

from there if i click the forum link in the navbar, it will take me into a properly loggd in forum display....then if i log out and log back in as diff user or such, its fine...seems related to the first time the browser loads the site for some reason...
