How to password protect forum?

I have went to channel forum creation and I see no options to set password.
I am full admin and no options anywhere.

No option for "Private forum" or anything.

Or was this never added even though it says in vb5's document that you can?

Password protected forums have been removed from VB5. You should use Usergroup permissions to control permission to channels (forums) instead.

It is a very rarely used feature that has been superseded by usergroup permissions.

The password protection, if the only thing required, was very weak. The password was not unique per user, so if anyone wanted to give it out, then the password was useless.

It was false security. The equivalent of storing a spare key under the welcome mat.
