AJAX Unicode Issue Mod_security error

The above setting will indicate if mod_security is preventing some AJAX requests from being submitted to vBulletin. If this shows Yes then you either need to disable mod_security or change the AJAX settings with the vBulletin Options and disable Problematic features.

mod_security is not even installed on server but its still giving that error. I even tried the .htaccess thing.
I'm paying for the Xen vps so I do have access to everything. I can root telnet and all that.

Is it just a vb5 bug?

Same thing = no mod_security installed, VB reports: "AJAX Unicode Issue Mod_security error"

what should i do - i whre is no "General Settings > Disable AJAX Features > " option
