    Question regarding vBulletin 5.5.1 bug-fix

    Hi,

I've noticed in the 5.5.1 bug-fix list there's mention of a fix with regards to searching for IP's. However, when looking at the reported bugs, most of them seem to be filed in 2014/2015? (eg https://tracker.vbulletin.com/vbulle...sues/VBV-14221).

Is there something wrong with the timestamp of has this feature been broken for almost five years??

Searching by IP address is a low priority issue. With thousands of issues and requests to resolve some are going to be in the queue for a considerable amount of time.

I fully understand the need for prioritizing. I was just surprised because I always found it a very useful option. I remember in the past when my forums were more active I had to use these IP functions a couple of times per week. Not having them available for four year(!) would have really made me upset. I think I'm just kinda surprised not many admins complained about it (assuming many complaints would have raised priority).

I always found it fairly easy to search using a SQL query but I can see why that wouldn't be everyone's first option.

There are many factors that can affect priority. Unfortunately, this can cause issues to get lost in the shuffle. As people encounter these issues and bring it up to us, we can find and fix them.
