    Upgrade feedback

    Hello everyone,

We have been using vBulletin for over 10 years and we thank you for the work you do.

We are currently in the process of preparing the version change from 4.2 to 5.2.6. If there are good surprises, there are also bad ones.

We appreciate that vBulletin is responsive and compatible with mobiles.

We also like sub-forum urls that better represent the hierarchy of different forums.

Yet, like many, we strongly regret your choice to prefix conversations and displayforum by /forum/ to distinguish them from the Cms and Blogs. Too bad because your centralized system based on the "routenew" table allows more flexibility. This is the word you use on your http://www.vbulletin.com/en/features/ page about "url rewriting". It would be good if you were listening to your users instead of "it's like that and that's all".

Another essential point, for us, French-speaking users (or other languages different from English using emphasis): the non-transformation of "é to ô ü ..." in simple "e a o u ..." in the urlident, which are source of many problems. For that, a simple option of Latinize () would satisfy your users. PLEASE, DO IT AS AN OPTION !

We will send Jira Tickets for the bugs we have detected during upgrade. A little bit more documentation would be also desirable.

    Best regards,
    Vdref

    Your documentation (https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/...ions_reporting) indicates :

    Post Reporting Discussion Forum
A discussion thread can be created for each reported post for moderators to discuss the post further. Choose a forum for the discussion threads to be created in.
Does it work for anyone ?

Variable "rpforumid" is not used anywhere in your code (only in xml files languages and setting)...
