MariaDB versus mySQL and vb 5 compatibility cpanel

I had asked hostgator on my shared server whether they would be going to mySQL 5.7, and they responded:


cPanel is also not planning on supporting MySQL 5.7 as they are switching support to MariaDB instead: https://features.cpanel.net/topic/ad...-for-mysql-5-7


Will this be an issue for vb 5?

nope, been using it for a while both vb 4 and 5...its a pretty clean replacer

Just upgraded my board to MariaDB - had some minor issues, but everything seems to be working very well now. Also using Plesk.
