SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

I've just installed VB 5.2.2 that solved me some problems but not all:

1) topics aren't marked as read
2) increment view count for topic fails
3) vb popups don't contain phrases (in english or my language) but variable names


Browser console (Firefox) shows the same warning for all these errors in the file footer-rollup-522.js:

1) Topic 887580 is marked read failed:SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

2) Failed to increment view count for topic 887580:SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

...and about 100 warnings phrase related
3) Error when fetching phrases: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

(in Chrome warning description is "SyntaxError: Unexpected token I" and in IE "SyntaxError: Invalid character")

So, when i open a topic, browser loads completely the page in about 25 seconds (until doesn't get all warnings in fetching phrases) and when i go back to discussions list i see topic not read and with the same view count. And it's frustrating!

I'm seeing "Invalid AJAX method called" error in the AJAX response. Did you upload all the 5.2.2 files to your server? What version did you upgrade from?

Yes, vb installation is complete (i hope).

The previous version was the 5.1.7 (migrated from 3.6.4 one year ago)
I got this error also in 5.1.7 in the last weeks (no server or vbulletin configuration change was made) so i decided to upgrade to 5.2.2.

Is something corrupting json data?

Try uploading all the files again in /includes/vb5/frontend directory from the 5.2.2 installation files to your server.

Error occurs when rewrite engine returns a "routestring" variable starting with a slash (e.g., /ajax/api/options/fetchValues).
Removing the initial slash in the variable works for me!
