Photos Only Forum

Hi all, on the beta demo site there is a photos only forum but it appears to be broken.

Could some one reset the photos only forum back up?

You need to change the filter to show you content.

This is one thing I dislike about the vb5 demo. It is hiding away content and making it hard to find.

Hmm interesting, I changed the filter and bingo they are there.

I am presuming you can set what the default is for the filter or is that hard coded?

From what I can see its just a new channel but its showing you all the photos from that channel first vs the posts from the channel is that right?

So in theory you have say a "Photos" forum (channel) where people can post threads with all there pictures, then you create a new forum (channel) to show only the photos and called it "Gallery".

So how do I setup this to show the photos only of a particular channel and is it possible to have a channel to show photos across all channels?

It seems the photos tab doesn't have its own settings like the other tabs. I've entered a JIRA to have this corrected:

If its not pushing it could you provide a simplistic breakdown of the steps required to get the photo forum only showing?

1. Go to the forum you want to be "Photos Only".
2. Activate Site Builder.
3. Edit the page.
4. Save the page. When it asks if you want to overwrite the template, say no. (this is to prevent overwriting the default)
5. Enter a new template name. I used Photos Forum.
6. Finish Saving.
7. Edit the Page again.
8. Edit the Activity Stream Module on the page.
9. Set the default tab to be photos.
10. Drag the Photos box so that it is the first tab. (optional)
11. Save the Module
12. Save the Page
13. Then in the Admin CP go to Channel Management -> Channel Permissions.
14. Edit the permissions of the forum you changed above.
15. Set the permissions so that only Photo content can be created in that channel.

If you assign the Page Template you created to additional forums, they should inherit the photo layout.
