I was on Mark B.'s site and didn't notice a "Forum Tools" option to mark the forums read. Did I miss something?

Thanks for the quick reply, didn't look at the "Front" page.
Do you know if they will add that ability by forum? On bigger sites, it's easier (for me) to go forum by forum and then marking that forum as read and moving to the next.Comment

I disagree... Most people don't read everything on a single visit and don't mark forums read on a regular basis. That is a key behavior difference between community forums and social media sites like Facebook. The functionality should be available, don't get me wrong, but it shouldn't be obvious to direct people to use it when the opposite will suit their needs better.
I do agree it could be formatted better though.

For the original question, Mark Channel Read has been merged into the inline moderation dropdown. This should be depicted on your page as a notepad with a pencil icon on the right side. None moderators should have access to this as well but not moderator functions.Translations provided by Google.

I don't see it on the beta 23 on two different test sites. Is this something that will be added on the next beta?Comment

I see it at http://www.vbulletin.com/vb5demo. That is beta 23. It is the first option in the dropdown.Translations provided by Google.

I am logged in. I am drilled down to the "Demo Question and Answer..." forum. What drop down menu are you referring to?
Another odd thing I noticed - the Announcement doesn't stack for me (as it states in the announcement), however I can rotate message to message.Comment

So it would seem. I was informed it would work differently since if you give users permission to edit or delete their own posts, they should get access to that menu now.Translations provided by Google.

I set 'Can Can Edit Own Posts', 'Can Delete Own Posts' & 'Can Delete Own Topics' to Yes, the checkboxes appeared on the forum topic list but the menu is not displayed.
We will make developers sad!👍 1Comment

What about the forum that a registered user didn't post in, would they be able to see the inline moderation menu? Does it (the ability to mark the forums read) have to be in the inline moderation menu?Comment
