You name it. Albeit, I do not agree that the same extent of publishing workflow is needed for a forum post or a blog. Those are personal opinion pages. Articles in most cases are not. You may want to have a editorial board not only to check articles for rule breaks, but to enhance them. You'd normally not do that for forum posts. So, I disagree that articles are just the same as posts or blogs. Even if you argue that way, my sentence is still true: This is not yet in the software, so adding an cms that's worthwile would take more than adding a content type at the moment. Even if you open up all the procedures to every content type, it still has to be coded first. As I said: I'm not defending the decision that was made. I'm just saying that this is how it is at the moment, and that at this moment it would take more than just adding a content type.
Confused - Where is the CMS?

So, basically, we seem to agree. vB5 has the basics of a cms, but it does not have an article system yet. And in order to add that, it needs more than just a content type. Whether it needs what is needed for a good article system to be released as a forum/blog-system, is subject to argumentation. One could say that it was a good forum software in the past w/o that, one could also argue that, if it has to be done anyway, it should be done now so that forum/blog etc. can profit, too. I don't pick a side in this - my intention really just was to make clear that at the present given state, just adding an article content type would not be enough to make it a cms like I would want it.Comment

It may not be. I'm sure they are hoping so. I just hope whatever happens they don't get to a date and go enoughs enough and just say its gold because of the date and not the quality. That would be disapointing.Selling my BigBoard GamerzNeeds.net/forums Threads: 193 502, Posts: 1 540 045, Members: 718 566 It is listed here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showt...3#post18297060

The staff need money to live on.
Money is not flowing in from renewals to pay them.
They cannot sell a Beta product to the wide public.
vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...Comment
