    Detailed list of features

Is there a detailed list of features for vb5 Connect? The videos and welcome screen are quite vague and I'd need to see a very detailed list of features before I commit to another purchase.

Custom content types were promised in vb4 and that never materialized. If it's not in vb5, I'm unlikely to purchase vb5/

And yet, "Beta" means a product is essentially "feature complete"
Perhaps this is "IBBeta", meaning, "feature INcomplete" (and buggy,to boot)

With 125 new features that no one can quite figure out what they are...

I am sure, once the product is finished (or at least has come to the status what they call "gold"), there will be a new-features-list. The current beta is more like a playground to get some first impressions of vB 5, but you really can't run a live site with it.

If they advertise it, then why can't they share it? They also claim the "most third party plugins" but yet the staff has already admited this is a false statement. They have also noted many things for VB4 that have yet to materialize, (if they ever do) Problem is we all want VB5 to be all that but marketing seems to be one step ahead of the developers...

That's damn expensive to get a first impression.

True. I guess any new customer should realize that paying today means getting vB 4 plus the later option to use vB 5, which means if you don't own a vB license at all you actually make a good deal. But those who are interested in vB 5 only might better wait for the gold release to get a good idea of what vB 5 is actually capable of.

How about giving existing vB customers the ability to download a time expired beta of vB5 to decide if we like it or not? I'm not shelling out money to evaluate something with no clear definition of what the enhancements actually are.

As i see it there are no real enhancements. There are changes. Its a beta. Many features are gone. Currently its a downgrade. But with the intention to build something on this new foundation. We can only wait and see.

So would u b a happy person if the 125 features included a lot of stuff in vb4 or did u think they meant new features?

Sorry, neither do I get your point, nor do I understand the connection with the initial request for a feature list.

So, still no official list of the 125 + features.

They should give vb4 to the public as an open source project while they screw on their "new whatever software". I am really sorry but I am a customer since when??? I don't know...a long time. It makes me sad to see how a great piece of software is going to a poor level in almost every aspect. No feature list, horrible code and so on.....BUT you can buy it officially on the homepage just like a great detailed and released product....sorry but WTF?!?!
