    His 9,041 Members will be thankful for the new forum software. There are still people around thinking a beta is the same it was some years ago. Sure it's his own stupidity but there was no reason to sell this alpha to the public because all know there are a lot like this guy installing it on a live board without enabling the brain.

      Even if it was "Gold" and the most stable, wonderful product ever released, it is STILL not sensible to go straight in and upgrade a live site. A test mirror should be set up first.

      This is how I managed to run 4.2.0 live while still in beta. Test, test, test. Once you're happy, go live.

      There's only so much companies can do to protect customers from themselves.

        Sure you are right. But a good company has to consider all the "stupid" customers who upgrade the board once they'll see a new version coming out.
