How does the code look like?

To those who actually decided to buy the early beta, how does the code look like to you? Is it a major improvement in terms of style compared to legacy vB 3/4? Is a MVC design pattern visible?

Yeah I'd like to know about this too. Using more object-oriented code may result in slower initialization/loading time, but I'd say it's worth the trouble. If VB5's slowness is partially caused by its MVC usage, I'd be perfectly fine with it.

We've already had some opinions from the likes of Digitalpoint and a few others, which weren't too good. (To put it mildly)

It really does feel and look like SOME the product was outsourced for cheap.

As far as i know Shawn didn't check the source code yet so stating his name is completely wrong.

Yep... Just to clarify, I have not seen any vB5 source code. So slow and so many queries, I'm certain it's beyond fixing at least for my use (so I have no interest in even seeing it).

Quite right, I didn't mean the source code in Shawn's case, I meant him pointing out the differences in speed and page size, plus him finding that massive amount of CSS classes in a single html tag.

I bought it for the exact reason. I've been kind-off regretting it ever since buying it, the adminCP is mealy a cosmetic upgrade and it is hardly vbulletin at all in my opinion.

However on the bright side of things...

IF the right changes are made this could be great, it just needs a few tweaks here and there and a few more upgrades. I'm not sure how the new plugin replacement system is going to work. It is obviously that its not even near ready and im confused why they released it when they still have so much to do.
The new vBulletin syntax is nice of what I've seen but I've only just started looking at the styles.

I'd say buy it if you're a big fan of vB and willing to take a risk, the risk being if it's not improved a lot then it could be a big waste of money in my opinion. Feel free to PM me if you want to see any screenshots of anything
