That may be true in terms of development but you can still get technical support for vB4 and tech support is still pretty helpful.

But VB5 does have its benefits-

      1) Responsive Design
      2) Site Builder
      3) Stronger Passwords
      4) Option to require paid subscription to register
      5) Updated ckeditor

Bonus #6 - Some people like the style better.
The biggest benefit of vB5 that I can see is that it's slightly simpler and more intuitive. Biggest downside is the absence of the calendar (yes, I know you've produced a workaround with a Google calendar which isn't ideal but allows you to put one up there).

The strange thing with calendars, is that in my thirteen years experience of using vBulletin, in which time I've been on literally multiple thousands of vBulletin sites, I've seen probably two or three sites where the calendar was actually put to any real use.

Yet now we have people saying calendars are urgently needed. I'm sure some people have a genuine need for them, but I have hardly ever seen them used. I don't see them used as often as blogs and social groups, and thosed are quite rarely used in themselves.

I would say major changes are likely off the table but other than that I don't think anyone is saying for sure. At one time we thought 3.x was only getting security updates, but then it get updates for PHP 5.4 and beyond.
SOMEONE should have told vB Support this.... I have a screenie here of my ticket where he tells me what I put down there... I will be VERY ANGRY if it turns out I did not need to upgrade... Cause you cant DOWNGRADE as far as I know !!

In that ticket I said "vBulletin 4 does not receive active development any longer, as it is not the current product."
What that means is that we're not actively developing it...features aren't being added, the product is not "in development" in the way that vB5 is.
That's not the same as no security fixes, and it's not the same as updating it for php version compatibility.

The attachment photo is impossible to read.
                  Why not upload something bigger?

Compare the backup from vb4 and vb5.
Specially table posts and users. I think can be roll back manually.
Probably users' passes are encrypted different way so all users should have to change them again.

The uploaded image isn't the problem, it's the ridiculous implementation of the light box that's the problem. If you want to view the image as it was intended, load it into the light box, right click and select 'View Image'.

Something equally ridiculous is you can't spell check, cut text or directly access the clipboard when using Firefox here.

Mark said VB 4.x is only getting PHP updates, which is basically true- an occasional small bug might get a fix here or there.

That is different from "security updates" which you claimed and I corrected. VB 4.x is getting more than security updates as it is getting PHP updates.

We've been using the calendar for years...we use the blogs as well. What made the calendar easier to use (for us) was when the navigation manager was introduced in vB4 because it made it easier to find. I can't understand why anybody would *not* want a calendar.

We've never had much success with the social groups.
