If you are happy with your site then I would suggest you stay with what makes you happy.
But VB5 does have its benefits-
1) Responsive Design
2) Site Builder
3) Stronger Passwords
4) Option to require paid subscription to register
5) Updated ckeditor
Bonus #6 - Some people like the style better.Comment

The strange thing with calendars, is that in my thirteen years experience of using vBulletin, in which time I've been on literally multiple thousands of vBulletin sites, I've seen probably two or three sites where the calendar was actually put to any real use.
Yet now we have people saying calendars are urgently needed. I'm sure some people have a genuine need for them, but I have hardly ever seen them used. I don't see them used as often as blogs and social groups, and thosed are quite rarely used in themselves.MARK.B

4,2.3 is currently in Beta and is not a security fix so to say 4.x is only is "security only" isn't accurate. I'm not sure any firm decision has been made what may or may not happen to the 4.x line in the future. I would say major changes are likely off the table but other than that I don't think anyone is saying for sure. At one time we thought 3.x was only getting security updates, but then it get updates for PHP 5.4 and beyond.

In that ticket I said "vBulletin 4 does not receive active development any longer, as it is not the current product."
What that means is that we're not actively developing it...features aren't being added, the product is not "in development" in the way that vB5 is.
That's not the same as no security fixes, and it's not the same as updating it for php version compatibility.MARK.B

I was basically told BY YOU that I should upgrade to 5... Now I have a forum my client does not want to use because it does not work that well... I pitched YOUR FORUMS HARD to them... Why not upload something bigger?

Specially table posts and users. I think can be roll back manually.
Probably users' passes are encrypted different way so all users should have to change them again.Comment

Something equally ridiculous is you can't spell check, cut text or directly access the clipboard when using Firefox here..👍 1Comment

The uploaded image isn't the problem, it's the ridiculous implementation of the light box that's the problem. If you want to view the image as it was intended, load it into the light box, right click and select 'View Image'.

Where is it?

That is different from "security updates" which you claimed and I corrected. VB 4.x is getting more than security updates as it is getting PHP updates.

We've never had much success with the social groups.Comment

by BasilFawltyI run a fairly large site with VB 4.2.1 and am quit happy with it. No offense but I personally do not like VB5 - not even a little bit. That said, I have been thinking about starting a second forum...
