    Import process for vb5?

When is an import process for vb5 going to come out. I have had a useless site now for over a year because I can not do a fresh install. I think most of my site bugs are from the upgrade 4.1 to 5.01 process. I believe my site would function much much better if I could do a clean install and an import all of my data. I could say more but I shall stop. Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Andy

Why can't you do an upgrade from vB4 to vB5? (I assume you still have a backup of your vB4 installation...)

I have thought about that but I have made a lot of changes to the site in 5.0 and all new users and posts would be lost. I did not know that the bugs on my site existed because of the original import process until recently, so hours and hours of work would be lost.

There is no import process atm, you'll need to do an upgrade.

Imports rarely solve issues with installations. Most times they make the problems worse. They are no a substitute for proper upgrades and upgrading by import is and never has been supported.

Your best bet would be to upgrade your 5.0.1 system to 5.0.5 and it is recommended that you upgrade when releases are made to eliminate issues.

I upgraded to 5.0.5 several weeks ago when it came out and still have bugs. I always upgrade in a timely manner. It seems when researching my site problems I read about issues that stem from the upgrade process from 4.01 to 5.01. An import may cause more problems but I would like to something, or anything to make my site fully functional today and am tired of waiting for an upgrade that usually does not address any problems that I am having.

An import isn't going to fix anything.

So your 100% sure if I did a clean install and if it were possible to import user, channels, and discussions my site would have the same problems?
