I don't think that ForumRunner works behind HTTPS as of yet. Thus, vBulletin.com forum wouldn't work as of yet. (Something they are working on from what I've read.)

You can get the free read-only version for your mobile device and try other vBulletin forums. It would be the exact same functionality.

I no longer see a reason for vBulletin mobile suite to exist any more, when there is a far superior product within the 'company'.

Even when the products sits between two different areas? The vBulletin Mobile Suite and ForumRunner's Mobile options are different options that fill the same category.

The mobile suite is possibly a one time payment, with a smaller renewal, assuming everything works great you in theory would never pay again for the product. You also have to do some work yourself.
ForumRunner is a price per year, required, or you need to discontinue use of their software and remove it from the app store.

These are both related to the branded products.

Yes but both the vBulletin and Forum Runner pricing packages are just a matter of policy. vBulletin or Forum Runner could change their prices immediately if they so desired. My point is that you have two seperate products with two seperate code bases, it would make more sense for there to only be one, and forum runner seems better to me.

If Forum Runner didn't have a year by year subscription model I may well have bought it, as it is I'm not going to buy anything that requires you to pay a large yearly fee, and I'm not going to buy the vBulletin app because of the pee-requistites, and from what I've seen of it, it's quite poor!

About Google ads and ForumRunner. Is is ok to run adsense? TapaTalk says no.

Found this that its not allowed to have google ads in an app, only in a browser.

You would need to ask over at the Forumrunner site.

                      Forumrunner integration and Mobile Suite

At this time I don't consider the vb suite as good enough to promote to my members. The mobile skin is better I suppose I will buy forum runner branded. I guess this is what IB is counting on. They now own a superior product and get more revenue.

I upgraded to vBulletin 4.1.12 without a glitch. I configured also ForumRunner and integrated it with Google AdSense. For those interested: Soon, Google AdSense will no longer support high-end devices (iPhone, Android). They recommend instead using the same code as in AdSense for Content.

Everything works OK at this time. Upgrading vBulletin has been much better lately (after v4.1.10, my latest experience). This ForumRunner seems to be a good addition. All we need is thousands and thousands of eyeballs!

                          Best of luck!

Curious! Forum Runner has NOT upgraded yet. They still use vBulletin 3.8.7!
Also, their forum and Forum Runner Manager are extremely slow…

Google AdSense has Mobile under More Products in My Account, then My Ads. They offer two options, one being for advanced phones (e.g. iPhone, Android), the other for less advanced devices. Also, AdSense generated mobile code for me this month, April 2012.

I don’t know why things contradict sometimes … or why they are not clarified by the officials at Google AdSense …

The ForumRunner guys are not sure about AdSense either. They only issued a warning regarding integration of AdSense for Mobile in Forum Runner.

I did anyway. I saw a number of hits in my Forum Runner Manager, a majority in iPhones. But I haven’t seen a penny in my AdSense account yet!

Warning! I was wrong! This is the official Google AdSense policy:

“You are not allowed to frame AdSense for Mobile Content within mobile applications. This violates our no- ads-in-software policy.”

I removed Google AdSense from Forum Runner; also, I removed the Mobile from my AdSense account. No wonder I was not paid a penny for mobile ads …

What happens if I decide to switch to forumrunner branded?

Do users have to delete the current VB mobile app for my forum and install the new one from the forumrunner stores?
