    Binary Rejected v. 1.7

Our iOS app (v1.7) was rejected for the following reason

    PLA 3.3.12

We found your app uses the iOS Advertising Identifier but does not include ad functionality. This does not comply with the terms of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, section 3.3.12 of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement states:

"You and Your Applications (and any third party with whom you have contracted to serve advertising) may use the Advertising Identifier, and any information obtained through the use of the Advertising Identifier, only for the purpose of serving advertising. If a user resets the Advertising Identifier, then You agree not to combine, correlate, link or otherwise associate, either directly or indirectly, the prior Advertising Identifier and any derived information with the reset Advertising Identifier."

1 month since vB announced the release of 1.7 which is unusable to anyone and nothing has been done. I get the feeling there are only a few members actually using this platform and it is not worth the time or expense for vB to fix it. vB why don't you just discontinue the mobile version and focus on CSS compatibilty? You're wasting both our time.

This whole mess is fairly typical of the history of the mobile suite. Bug ridden, even slower progress than the rest of the whole VB mess and the biggest joke of all is that we paid a premium price for it !

how about offering those who bought vbulletin mobile suite a conversion to forum runner? then phase out mobile suite.

Just to be clear, the support team has reported the issue to the iOS/Mobile teams, we're waiting on a fix from them. We don't have anymore news to give you at this time.

The second we do have ANY news we will share it.

I'm quite happy with the mobile suite. We have a young audience, mostly teenage members, who use their mobile phone more than their PC. We gained a lot of new members since we use this mobile app. Now people can find us not only through search machines but also in Google Play, iTunes and compatible sites, to download the app, so it's free advertising. About 70% of our members/visitors use their mobile phone to explore our forums and I don't hear complains. There are a few minor issues with the app, like with the layout and some functionality which is different from the website version, but that doesn't stop people to use it. Too bad Apple has all those rules (like we experience now for some time), costs and difficulties to upload the app compared to Google Play. I believe vBulletin.com will fix the above issue any time soon and in the meantime we will be waiting patiently
