    Questions about vBulletin Mobile Suite

    Hi,

I’m considering buying vBulletin’s Mobile Suite. Though I have some questions which I would like to be clarified beforehand:

    - Is vBulletin Mobile Suite (Android and iPhone) compatible with vBulletin 3.8?

    - Is $199 on time fee? Or is it compulsory to pay additional $99 each year?

    - Are there any other extra / hidden charges (Apart of publishing apps)?

    - Can anyone clear how much would Android and Apple charge to publish apps. respectively?

    - Will it be possible for members to use this app if I decide to host them on my own server?

    - Expected release date for Blackberry / Windows app. and push notification feature?

    Thanks.

Yes just a API Addon you will need to install

$199 which includes first year but after that then $99/yr

    $99 Apple Developer Account
    $25 Android Account
Apple must have a Mac to submit app so don't have one will need to buy one or find/pay someone to submit for you.

Android yes can host the apk file and they can download directly from you.... Apple no that has to be in store you can submit it to be available on jailbroken phones but then you eliminate a lot of people from using your app.

    Blackberry = Unknown - though have mine on there already cause I got skills - http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...83043/?lang=en | http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...83041/?lang=en | http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...83039/?lang=en | http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...83044/?lang=en

    Windows Phone = Unknown

Push Notification = Believe I saw in tracker its scheduled for 1.2.0 release along with In-App Purchase (don't hold me to that thats what I believe I saw but was a while ago)

Hope there are no additional registration charges etc. and that's all I have to pay to publish? Also, is this fee yearly or just one-time?

No, but you won't receive updates or support without it.

Both Apple and Google charge annually also.

You will either need to find someone who can do it for you or install OSX on a virtual machine on your PC.

Is this optional too? Or would I compulsorily need to pay this amount yearly in order keep my app. on their store?

You will need to check their terms and conditions although I suspect with no 'license', you won't be allowed to have your apps there.

Apple you dont pay the $99 your app will no longer be in the app store.... Anyone who bought it prior will still be able to use it but they wont get any more updates and you wont get anymore users........

                  You can check out

                  http://www.AppSubmissionService.info/

They have a service that can upload your apps to apple, android and bb tablets and the new bb10 phones coming out soon.

I use this service for that and it saves me a lot of time and hassle. I do my own android stuff but I don't have an apple so they do that for me and trying to wade through the bb developer account is a hassel.

cause those instructions are for iPhone only....

Android you can just upload the .apk file to your web server and browser to it and download it... or email it to your phone....

just must go into settings and make sure you have the option turned on to download from other sources....

**Edited** okay see the android link under that link you sent... So if go there from your Android device and click the Download for the Android version it doesn't download? Do you have setting enabled to allow downloading/installing of Applications from other sources (because by default set so can only download from the Android Market)

When I click the Download link for Android, instead of downloading the file, it's showing some ugly code.

Although I have saved that code as .apk file but I'm wondering whether it would work?
