Android Market app permissions

So, I've submitted the app to the Android store, they accepted it..all good. However, some of our users are complaining that the app simply asks for to many permissions, especially this:

• Hardware controls take pictures and videos
  Allows application to take pictures and videos with the camera. This allows the application at any time to collect images the camera is seeing.
• Phone callsread phone state and identity
  Allows the application to access the phone features of the device. An application with this permission can determine the phone number and serial number of this phone, whether a call is active, the number that call is connected to and the like.

Why does the app needs this? How can I change/modify those permissions? I don't know if it's an app issue or Android Market issue but many users will not install it only because of this.

Any help would be appreciated.

that one is easy cause you can attach pictures/videos to posts........

pretty sure vb has their reason.. have you tried opening a support ticket and ask them?

no, I figured they can easily answer on their forums, so I won't stress out their support team

The phone calls, ID and log's one as really been putting some my users off using the app of late, its also been getting me some bad reviews on the market from people saying the app is a risk. It would be nice for VB to say wahy.
