Cannot connect to API - couple of error messages.

OK, I'm using 4.2.0 pl 3 and trying to run the mobile suite for the first time ...

Entered the information as requested - forum URL in this format: "http://www.mysite.com/forum"

    First Error:

Invalid URL Please check your site's Admin Control Panel, make sure the API is enabled, and verify that the parameters here are the same as the site.

I then tried changing the URL to http://www.myforum.com/path/forum.php and instead I got this error:

    Second Error:

"Your website is on an older version of vBulletin. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of vBulletin. You need at least 4.1.12, or 3.8x plus the current Mobile API plug-in"

Like I said, I am using the up-to-date version of VB 4.2.0 - only upgraded it yesterday.

I found an archived issue similar to this suggesting that VBSEO is the problem, however I am not using VBSEO

I have also tried this with the plugin/hook system completely disabled.

    Any ideas?

Tried that one and still the same issue - I've submitted a support ticket now so will see what comes back.

I don't see a ticket for your account. Did you already get a response? If not what is your ticket id?

I'm posting back in here as vb support seem to be unable to find the issue.

Basically the vb servers cannot communicate with my website, and yet there are no security mods installed under Apache that could be preventing this connection from being made.

              Anyone got any ideas?

It's taken me months to find the solution to this!

Basically, the ticket I raised didn't find the solution, but a moment of logic suddenly sorted it out!

I don't have VBSEO installed, but I was using the built in "Basic Friendly URLs" setting in the admin options. As soon as I reverted to "Standard URLs" the error vanished
