image upload works intermittently

Let me preface this by saying I have an aging iPhone 3G (not S).

While I'm out and about I sometimes create a thread with an image in it that I've uploaded from my phone. The image will show during thread creation but when I submit/post, sometimes only the text shows and not the corresponding picture.

I'm going to put the blame on the phone but it would be nice if the mobile app would have a better progress bar for image uploads to know it went through successfully.

Yes, the text shows always. The image upload is a crapshoot.

I haven't had the need to do an image upload from my mobile on this site but here you go. This post should contain a picture of a pen from work.
