How to have separate Ad Supported and Ad-Free version of your App. (iOS only)

So you have your new Mobile Suite app but you want to have a Free version with Ads (gotta have that constant revenue stream) but then you also want a paid version with no ads... well here is how to do that...

    1) make your version with ads per vB's instructions and submit to apple per vB's instructions.

    2) now go to the app builder and rebuild your app but remove the ads...

    3) Download your new ad-free version

    4) extract it... you will then get a file like bf951c21169 rename it to like bf951c21169pro

    5) right click bf951c211619pro and choose "Show Package Contents"

    6) now find the file bf951c21169 and again rename to bf951c21169pro

    7) find info.plist double click to open

    8) in the info.plist find and change these

Executable file: bf951c21169 change too: bf951c21169pro

Bundle Identifier: com.internetbrands.bf951c21169 change too com.internetbrands.bf951c21169pro

Bundle Name: bf951c21169 change to bf951c21169pro

    leave everything else alone...

    9) Now go to Apple's iOS Provisioning Portal > App ID's > New App ID >

Description: Your App name just Add Pro or something to the end: Like mine is Digital Mayhem Mobile Lite for the Free version and this new version I input Digital Mayhem Mobile Pro

    Bundle Seed ID: Generate New

Bundle Identifier: com.internetbrands.bf951c21169pro ( put whats in your vB instructions just add the pro to the end..)

    10) Now go to Provisioning > Distribution Tab > New Profile >

    Distribution Method: App Store

Profile Name: name your profile (mine is DM Mobile Pro Profile)

App ID: choose the new app id for your pro version

    11) now go through the normal signing process ./resign.sh bf951c21169pro 4LP5C24LFP "Digital Mayhem" DM_Mobile_Pro_Profile.mobileprovision (dont use that thats an example of mine.) if you wanna install on your own phone need to go create a ad-hoc provisioning profile.

    12) right click bf951c21169pro and choose Compress to create a zip file

    12) Now go into iTunes Connect > Add New App >

App Name: Enter your App Name

SKU Number: enter the one from the vB Instructions but add pro to the end.. example: VBM5D6D080VMBipro

Bundle ID: select the bundle id for the ad-free version

    13) next screen enter the price to charge for the app and then the rest of the process is exactly the same as outlined in the vbulletin instructions and then use the Application Loader to upload bf951c21169pro.zip

***NOTE*** bf951c21169 bf951c21169pro are just an examples as well as the sku's VBM5D6D080VMB VBM5D6D080VMBpro yours are obvioulsy different so replace with your values....

This process is only for iOS app... I am still working on how to figure out Android and will post instructions after figure it out and test it...

I HAVE BOTH MY AD SUPPORTED AND AD-FREE VERSIONS INSTALLED ON MY IPHONE AND THEY BOTH WORK SO I KNOW THIS PROCESS WORKS.. I SUBMITTED MINE TO APPLE AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE ATTACHED SCREEN SHOT AND IT PASSED ALL THER META DATA CHECKS, Etc...

*****UPDATE***** Still have not figured out how to get free and paid version on Android Market so in meantime put Pro version on Amazon AppStore only thing is their developer account is $99/yr but first year is free....

it's listed for 1.2 - not sure on when that's likely to be though...
