    GPS and location info

When looking at my Android app in the marketplace, I notice that it tells end users that the app can access location info. What exactly does that mean? There doesn't seem to be any use for that in a standard forum setting so I would like to know what is being done with this info. Can I see this info? Is it only used for serving mobile ads? My app does not contain ads so why is it enabled?

I'd like to have an answer so I can tell my users the truth. I keep things very transparent.

It is used by the advertising APIs. Even if you aren't using advertising, the APIs are still included in the build. In the interest of transparency, this is noted in the marketplace.
