smf 2.0.2 to Vb 4.2 using impex

hello,
i am new VB customer, i am unable to understand how to use IMpex.

I found some Impex using guide. i am not clear about this.. its not at all user friendly/..


Any videos available.. i wondered youtube also dont have such videos..

I haven't started , I am confused which folder i need to install in hosting , where to upload it...

does i first install Vbulletin? if yes in which directory?

I am currently running SMF in /forum dir

On which dir does i need to upload impex folder?

Yes, you need to install vBulletin first.

Copy the contents of the Impex upload folder to your vBulletin root directory:

See.. I have alredy SMF installed on Directory www.technodiscuss.com/forum

So i want to upgrade VB in this dir
so .. Where should i install Vbulletin 4.2 now??( i mean which Directory)

still i cant under stand does installing vb on another dir .. and using impex... chnaging again url makes VB run on my old dir "/forum"

You first need to install vBulletin SOMEWHERE, doesn't matter where in the long run, can be changed.
Once vBulletin is installed, you need to install impex into vBulletin's folder.
Then you can use the impex software to get your smf data out of your smf site.
Then you can move the vBulletin software to the /forum/ folder if you want it there.

just now installed Vbulletin , but got error

As per error, i felt its config file is missing.. but there is no config file in my downloaded 4.2 (/includes)vb folder

and as every where i am seeing install impex folder in Vbulletin installed dir.
Does i need to upload all impex folder or in downloaded impex folder there is upload dir -> there impex folder and include folder.

what exactly i need To upload

There is a config.php.new file If its not in your download, then something about your download was wrong.

Redownload the software. You can't impex yet, you haven't installed vBulletin yet. Stop worry about step 2 when you're stuck on step 1.

For the impex stuff.

You now need to upload the files inside of the upload folder, your vBulletin folder.

I have changed config file & filled with smf database details , Vb database details
