    Is there a tutorial somewhere?

I am trying to edit the config file. Most of it is fine but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to point to the source database. I keep getting an error when trying to import.

    - - - Updated - - -

I assume the issue is with this line

    $impexconfig['source']['server'] = '
    hostgator.com';

Choose vBulletin 4 from the drop down, and then go to the impex system.

What exactly are you trying to import from?

Impex is not used to move servers.

See the moving servers document instead.

I have done that before and had no issues. I got it right now but am getting this error

If you have all red tables, i.e. none correct this could possible be your table prefix :

          blog_grou
Failed Check database permissions and connection, or table prefix to ensure its correct

I cannot provide any further support if you intend to use impex for something its not designed for, and something that will almost certainly destroy all of your search engine rrankings.

Got everything worked out. I backed up the database and uploaded it to the server. The techs at the new host installed it on their server and I used Impex to move it to the new forum.

Still don't understand why you'd pretty much destroy your old installation just to move servers. Instead of just restoring it.

I moved servers because Hostgator said my forum was using too much of their server resources. I did not just decide I did not like hostgator. They shut down my forum. Should I have just let them do that, tell me what you would have done?

Backup the database, restore it on the new machine. Impex shouldn't be anywhere in this equation.

OK, question. How do I install the CMS and blogs. The Impex only installed the forum.

Impex is not something to move servers with.

Do you have a full database backup?

If so, restore it, edit config.php to point to this file. Server move done.

Tried it, did not work. I have the forum up and running, all the posts (as far as I know) are there as well as the users, etc.. What is not there is the CMS and Blogs.

The CMS and Blogs are enabled in the Product Manager? You don't have hooks disabled via config.php?

Yes, I have the CMS and blogs features there, but all my articles and blogs did not get installed.
