    Impex for vb4 to vb4?

    Hi,

We built a new website with a new forum and now I would like to export the user posts/threads/attachments to the new forum. Both forums are 4.2.2 and the databases reside on the same server. What is the best practice to do this? Can I use impex for that or do I need something else?

Move the database from one to the other. Without impex. If I'm not wrong you cannot move between same version of vBulletin.

Okay. I exported the database through myphpadmin to a .sql file but now its too big to import again (205MB). How can I overcome that barrier? Tried to zip it but then it's still 60 MB. Max. File size can only be 8 MB.

You can try using mysql dumper http://www.mysqldumper.net/

If that doesn't work for you, you will need to restore the database vis the command line

Actually 205mb is not that big, you can increase the PHP memory limit in php.ini and/or try zipping the mysql file in phpmyadmin before downloading

Thanks Donald. I now know my way around PHPmyadmin to import the old database.
Now there's another hurdle: The old database has a prefix like xxx_ and the new database doesn't. So when I import the old tables are added to the database and not replaced. How can I fix that?
