Basic Question Regarding Import

OK so I went through the documentation and set up the config but I do not understand (and this might seem really stupid) how does impex know the url of the board it is importing from?

Its like I am missing something here example: importing from siteA[dotcom] to siteB[dotcom] or am I suppose to install the old site in a directory on the site I am importing into?

I am confused?

ah ha

ok - finally got this figured out. So to answer my own question the site to be imported from has to be installed in a directory on the new site that you are importing into.

So far so good....
