Can't seem to get impex working

Hello, I have a fresh install of vBulletin Connect 5.0.5 and would like to import a list of users from a text file. I am new to vBulletin but it looks as though I need to install and use the impex addon to do that.

The instructions seemed relatively simply, I downloaded the impex plugin from the vBulletin member's area, I renamed the config file and entered the database name, user and password copying the same values used by the vBulletin config file. I am assuming that the only impex module I need is txt_file so that is the only folder I left in the "systems" folder. My vBulletin installation in in a folder named blog in the wwwroot directory of my server. I copied the impex folder to the blog directory (which is where the admincp folder is located per the instructions) and then added the separate xml folder to the includes directory.

However, when I log into my vBulletin Admin Control panel I can not find an "Import" option anywhere. Either I have not installed impex correctly or am looking in the wrong place but since I don't get any error messages or anything I am really not sure how to troubleshoot this issue. Can anyone give me any pointers where to look next?

Do you have cpnav_impex.xml in the /includes/xml folder?

My install of vBulletin v5.0.5 did not have an xml folder in the includes folder, but I had created the folder and then added the cpnav_impex.xml file into it. However, in another thread I started you wrote that impex is not compatible with v5.0.5, here you seem to indicate it is (since I mentioned that was the version I was using in my original post) so I am now getting even more confused. When I was viewing the impex manual on vBulletin's website it showed 5.0.5 in the upper left hand corner of the page so it seems to me that vBulletin's own documentation seems to indicate it is compatible with v5. If I understood what you wrote in the other thread it seems that I would have to blow away all the work I've done, install an old version of vBulletin, run the import and then upgrade to v5. Do I really have to do that just to import a simple csv file?

You cannot use IMPEX with vBulletin 5. It can only be used with vBulletin 4.2.X which has a very different folder structure.

Thanks for your help. So, I went ahead and deleted my vBulletin 5 database and directory structure and reinstalled a fresh copy of version 4.2.2 using a new empty mysql database, that went ok. But I am still having problems getting IMPEX installed apparently. I added the impex folder to the root folder of my vBulletin installation and added the xml file to the xml folder. Since I am only interested in importing a text file the only things I left in the systems folder are a folder named "txt_file" and an empty index.html file. At least this time the Import->Import option is available in the admincp, however when I click on it I get this error...
