404 Error after uploading Impex to web server

I uploaded ImpEx to the web host in the admincp directory and put the cpnav_impex.xml file in the includes directory.

The import button appears on the cp panel
But when you click import, you get a 404 error- nothing present.

    The webpage cannot be found
    HTTP 404
    Most likely causes:

    • There might be a typing error in the address.
    • If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.
    What you can try:
    Retype the address.

Go to and look for the information you want.

What did I do wrong? What is missing?

I tried to load things in the cp panel, and now it won't come up at all. UGH!

I did that. That is why the "import" tab comes up. But then, I get the 404 error.

      What did I do wrong?

THe impex folder should go into your forum directory, not your admincp directory.

I placed it in the forum directory, and then got a 500 error instead of 404- a programming error.

Any idea what is causing that now? I checked the config file and the target and source DBs are ok. I am stumped.
