It was done the same way in the past,. Infact almost all impex versions have been developed on customer data.
Will Impex import a vB4 system?

AFAIK QA has already gone through this. Also it has ALWAYS been our policy to test new importers out on real customer data, even when Jerry was the Impex Dev.
Nonetheless I have asked Fabian and crew to let me know what they need exactly. As I said however, no one has stepped forward to provide this data even though they are often the ones demanding this the most.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

Upload the file to your server (best make it a password protected directory) then open a ticket with a link to the file.
Is it a Forum Only or Suite database?Comment

Do you still need this? I have two vbulletin 4 sites to merge together. Both are full suite, with blogs, cms, and forums. The database I want to merge INTO my site is less than 140mb, and contains forums, cms, and blogs. Would you need the whole site? including attachments, uploaded images, etc.Comment
