    Nope I never got one
I had staff ask me (maybe you, not sure) if I wanted to send a test database for "testing"
I stopped listening after that.. sorry
I don't have a 4.x license anymore but I do have clients with them from time to time that want other vb 4 forums imported.
I do hope it's in the impex download soon.

    thx

Put in a ticket with an email you'd like a copy of the beta impex software. It handles forums > forums more or less flawlessly.

I have a question that relates to my old thread.

Can I import a vbulletin 4.1.5 into another 4.1.5? (would it be wiser to update both vb sites to the latest 4.2.x first?)
And is that in the standard impex download?

        Thank you

Should work OK, don't see any reason for it not to but run it on a test copy first to be sure
          Vote for:

          - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
          - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

Impex is currently only for vB4 - there is no vB5 version finished and available at this time.

So there is an option in the impex download to import from vbulletin 4?
I guess I'll find out for sure when the client sends me the download, just wanted to double check before confirming with them.

Yes. It's not listed within the dropdown for source systems but if you use the latest vB3 one in there, it should import fine.

ha.. why wouldn't it be listed in the dropdown?
                    Wasn't vb4 released 4 years ago??

Who would we ask about this since you don't have any info?
It seems pretty bad that vbulletin's starship importer is so delaied, even if it does work selecting vb3 as you say.

I guess being intuitive isn't something vbulletin cares about.

You'd need to enter it in the Impex project within the Tracker to get it addressed I'm afraid Brandon.

I’m just shaking my head over this one guys. Do you know that Impex use to be something I’d BRAG about to my clients? Oh it’s something we can import anything with, it’ll grab all content, all attachments, all images and transfer them over to vBulletin for you, it’s truly a wonderful script!

Well that was in 2007 and it’s really gone to crap since and now you want me to start up a support ticket in your hated “jira” to suggest vbulletin allow its 5 year old product (vb4) to import into itself?

Heck, it’s likely listed there a few times around but that doesn’t matter since it doesn’t have the “votes” right?

We should have a live bug count on the home page of vbulletin.com

                            vBulletin 3 bugs: XX
                            vBulletin 4 bugs: XXX
                            vBulletin 5 bugs: XXXX

I think it would be a nice incentive

                              No comment here then?
Should we assume impex is dead these days, 5-6 years with no update.. I guess I just answered my own question.
