Merging two forums

Hi, can I merge two 3.8.4 forums together using Impex?
It won't overwrite the source database will it?
Also what are your tips and experiences using Impex to merge?

Btw, the forum is quite large so downtime should be minimal.

Yes you can.

No, it wont overwrite, but it will merge threads and users if told too. Otherwise if you are importing A into B, B's threads will be re-id'd...

Impex is the only way to go....I recently merged to VBs and a phpBB together into one. My only advice would be to go over permissions with a fine tooth comb...I accidentally let the phpbb forum users see all of my private forums for like a week, no bueno!

Im in a slightly different situation... I upgraded my forum to vb 4 cms and now want to merge my old vb blog 2.0 to my cms .... Is there any way to do that?
