Converting from phpBB 3.0.4 to vBulletin 3.8.2

    Hello,

I just bought licenece and I would like to convert my forum from from phpBB 3.0.4 to vB 3.8.2
What should I do first and can I first try it on some subdomain and when I finish it just transfer to main domain?
When I upload files to server, where I should upload them if current phpBB forum exist?
How long will my forum be offline?

    Thank you

    Darko

You need to have the phpBB database on the same server as vB. Then just follow Impex import instructions here:

Ok, I did it on subdomain to test it and it is works.
My question now is where should I upload files for the main board?
It shoud be in public_html but there is my current board. Should I first delete all files and upload it or I can upload it in some other place?

      Thank you

      K.

You upload the vB files to wherever you want to run vB form.

But if I make new folder in public_html and upload and install board there, My current site in public_html ( root ) will be still displayed , not vBulletin .....or I am missing something here .

          Thanks

I don't understand what you are asking or what the confusion is. Please explain.

My current forum is in public_html folder and server reading files from that folder. If I install forum in some other folder, how will server know which forum to read if my current board stay in public_html.

It knows because you use the URL that is for that directory.

OK, than lets back to my question. Should I delete files of old forum and upload vB in public_html?
You said I can upload it anywhere, but how it will be visable if my old forum is still in public_html?

What 'old forum' are you referring to?

I'm having the same exact issue

Right now I have public_html, inside of public_html, there is all my phpbb files. Do I just create a new folder called "forums" and drop it inside of public_html, or do I just put all the vb files into public_html? Is there an up to date ImpEx tutorial? This is pissing me off..

Here is the steps for it:
                          1. Keep your VBulletin forums in /forums/ (meaning /public_html/forums)
                          2. Keep your PHPBB forums in / (meaning /public_html/)
                          3, Run Impex.
                          4. Remove PHPBB in /public_html/
                          5. Download VBulletin from /public_html/forums and copy the files to /public_html/
                          6. Remove VB in /public_html/forums/
                          7. Go to /public_html/admincp and change the urls etc. in the VBulletin Admin Panel
                          8. Your Done!

                            Thanks

That was my question. Should I remove phpbb or not.
