  • Change the attachments folder path to new one

    Hello everyone,

    I recently purchased vb and very happy with it. I used impex to import my smf forum to vb on local server, everything went just fine. Uploaded the new sql and vb files to my remote server, everything work.

    The only problem is with attachments. Currently attachment storage type is file system but the path to the attachments dir is different. Currently I have "/opt/lampp/htdocs/vb3/attachments", but on my remote server this path is different.

    How can I change this path?

    Thanks in advance.

    The instruction here should work: How Do I Change the Location of Attachments After a Server Move

        Instructions in the link are for vB 3, for vB 4 they should read:
        Assuming you have copied the attachments to a directory on the new server, add this to config.php to enter into debug mode:

        Under:

        <?php

        Add this line:

        $config['Misc']['debug'] = 1;

        Then to change the attachment directory:

        Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Version Info and Other Untouchables -> File Attachment Path

        Remove or comment out the debug line when you are done.
