I'd like to report that my import was a 100% success. Even the blog posts that it said failed happened to import correctly. Jerry, thanks for sticking it out to fix all of the nagging bugs. My users are absolutely thrilled with the new setup.

Still working on it, fixed the categories today so all the blogs are associated correctly.

The userid issue was done last week, I've had reports (as above) of customers being ok.

Though looking at a clean (and safe) way of merging admins atm.

Have to make sure you have the latest ImpEx uploaded and selected the correct target system.

                Hi,

I've just upgraded to 3.8 which has killed my vBjournal.

There is no 'options_everyone' field in the vB 2.0.2 Blog. Which version of Blog are you running?

                    I'm running the following:

vBJournal 1.0.2 Beta 1 vBJournal for vBulletin 3.5

                    And

vBulletin Blog 2.0.2 Personal web log, integrated with vBulletin.

Is it possibly a vB Journal column or something? I see that this was a problem before, too...so I'm not the only one encountering this issue:

                    Thanks.

As that thread states Blog 2 is not officially supported with Impex yet. You will need uninstall it, download Blog 1.0.5, install that, then do the import. After that you can upgrade the Blog.

Regardless, following Steve's suggestion did the trick...although it doesn't report any new blogs being listed, all the blog entries and comments are listed to their respective owners. I did hose my database once though...freakin' Impex is a very scary yet powerful tool! Thanks!

I have this exact same issue on a fresh install, importing vb 3.5 to 4.x which went fine
but I get the above error trying to import vbjournal to vb blog 1.0..

What do I need to do to fix it?

                              thx

this is with the 4.x suite..

so apparently vb journal ISN'T supported even those it's clearly marked as supported in the vbulletin docs.

well isn't this great, not only is vbulletin lying to me, but they are lying to their clients.

The manual here http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/impex_module_dump clearly indicates that vBJournal is Tier3.

This is the graveyard of importers, these importers are not supported. There are three reasons imports make it here. Firstly is because their source system has reached it's end of life and the source data model isn't changing any more so there are going to be no future updates. Secondly, that demand for them is so low that it is not viable to offer support for them as it makes no business sense (though the importer is here for people who want to delve into it).
place in the documentation where it is marked as supported, please let us know so we can correct that.
