Also, it would be helpful if there was an option to empty the SOURCE members database during the import. This would be helpful in troubleshooting which members did not make the import.

Also, I'd like to see a verbose listing of each step being dumped into a log file somewhere if possible (make it an option?). Currently, unless I am missing it, I have no way of telling which users/posts/avatars/etc. fail to come across, even though the Impex main screen shows success/failed for each category.

my suggestions for the ipb2.0 converter:

        - make an option for the one who imports a database wether to maintain the old passwords or having the users to create a new one and sent it to them by email.
        - import avatars aswell

since i hope to find someone who actually can help me with my first point, i really would like to see custom avatars imported too.

There is already a recuse me link.

You need to rebuild the counters and cache in the vB functions

Being extremly new at this...Im already on my 2nd day still trying to import using Impex. Either I have no clue what is it talking about or there is not enough steps on something. Out of 10 for ease of use, I have to give it a 1.

In a future release if reversing an import could Impex prompt before deleting any SuperAdmin?

Bet you can't guess what happened to me.

Yes I can guess Which is why I’ve stopped ImpEx being able to associate with any existing member that is in the admin user group.

A way to slow down the page refreshes so we can see what failed.

Alternatively, have the importer output all errors, or just all output, to a log file for troubleshooting so that it would make the Impex team's job easier in finding bugs.

$impexconfig['system']['pagespeed'] in impexconfig.php, at the bottom, changes the page speed.

There is a database table called impexerrors that the error output is being migrated to.

The priority support method is through the ticket system.
I don't expect there will be an official chat room...
                          Best Regards

All the "official" (there is no Jelsoft chat, but some of the websites related to vB do have one) will not give support since it is not possible to verify the license status of a chatter.

It doesn't always seem to be honored though, as you might have seen.
Perhaps adding a pause option somewhere that lets the user click a button for every page would be another option. I know this would be rather tiresome to deal with on multi-page loads, but when troubleshooting, having that pause would be very useful.
