general process

This isn't so much about the import system system but rather what I'm supposed to do. I want to convert my phpbb 2.0.6 board ober to VB3. I'm going to be using the same url so all the files will be going into the same directory, so should I delete all the existing files first?
I'm getting the idea that I should install VB3 first and then import all the converted data to it. Am I correct in thinking this?

Yes, I would install vB3 in a different dir, do the import to test it and get used to the process so you know what is going on.

Once you are ready to move over, close the phpBB board do the import, move phpBB into a back up dir, then move vB's dir, then reconfigure it for the different URL and settings.
