No Usergroups imported...

None of my usergroups have been imported following the running of ImpEx? Also, when I run the 'Import Rank' module - I get:

Invalid new usergroup object, skipping.importusergroupid
'importusergroupid'

... repeated for each of my existing phpBB2 ranks and again, none of these ranks are imported.

How can I correct this please.
